About NSCS

Advancing safety and health across Singapore since 1966

The National Safety Council of Singapore brings together partners, organisations and communities to promote a stronger culture of safety and health in every field of human activity.

Who We Are

NSCS was first known as The National Safety First Council of Singapore when it was inaugurated on 1 July 1966 by Dr. Goh Keng Swee. Since then, the organisation has continued to champion safety awareness, education and collaboration across the nation.

Our Story

The National Safety Council of Singapore was established to promote safety in all fields of human activity in Singapore. From its beginnings, NSCS has worked to encourage the public, organisations and institutions to adopt safer practices and build a stronger culture of prevention.

Over the decades, NSCS has evolved into a platform for collaboration, outreach and capability-building. Through events, campaigns, partnerships and educational initiatives, the Council continues to support a safer and healthier Singapore for all.

Today, NSCS remains committed to engaging stakeholders across workplaces, schools, communities and public spaces to raise awareness and strengthen safety and health outcomes across society.
