Safety in the home is an integral part of our lives. It is the aim of the Council to promote Home Safety to enhance the quality of life and to make the home a safer environment for all, especially for the two extreme age groups, the children and the elderly who are more prone to home injuries.

The Home Safety Committee, chaired by Mr. Anthony Sia, organises safety education programmes to raise awareness in the household, organise campaigns, exhibitions, give talks to schools, institution of higher learning, community centres as well as corporate organisations. The Council also disseminate safety tips through the media to teach parents, caregivers and children the importance of Home Safety.

The National Safety Council of Singapore has produced the second edition of Preventing Home Injuries booklet. It cites real cases of home injuries portrayed by photographs and illustrations to bring awareness of the danger spots in the Home. The author is the late Professor Chao Tzee Cheng, who was our Deputy President and Chairman of Home Safety Committee.
